Last night I was so tired, I ended up sleeping 12 hours. I woke this morning feeling like an entirely different person! Waking up at 3 or 4 am for work is rough, but especially when your not used to it!

Yesterday we were in Greenville, Pa. It's not very far from Ohio, where this man at an animal sanctuary decided to let all of the animals lose and then commit suicide. There literally was lions, tigers, and bears roaming around. I'm just thankful none of them made an appearance where we were!

You have to wonder, why people do the things they do... They had to shoot and kill all the animals. There were an estimated 60 animals on the loose. Can you imagine 18 tigers running around your neighborhood? I'm not even sure how many lions there were, but it had to of been a pretty high number as well. It's just so sad that all of these animals lost their lives, but I understand the police had to do it. You can't leave exotic animals roam around like their domestic cats. So sad :[

Well, I got lots to do around the house so I better get to it! I've been procrastinating all day :/

CNN story about the animals | Ohio sheriff: all animals believed accounted for

As the first leaves change their colors for autumn's big show, wewelcome the cool crispness in the air.

As the first leaves change their colors for autumn's big show, we welcome the cool crispness in the air., a photo by *autumnlove on Flickr.

Autumn is in the air, and on the ground :D I couldn't be happier. I really enjoy knowing I am helping people ;D All this week I have to be up at 3am.. THAT I don't like lol Who wants to be up when it's still dark, and the crickets are still chirping?! Our Noonie (grandma) went into the hospital a few weeks ago with shortness of breath, and they found she had mitro valve prolapse. Surgery was scheduled, but due to her blood pressure and breathing being so bad they had to do the surgery earlier than planned. Everything that could of went wrong did go wrong. The surgery was supposed to last 4 hours, it ended up lasting 10 hours. The complications were so bad, they didn't think she was going to make it. The Lord had other plans (: Little by little she improved. She went from having as many as 6 machines hooked up to her and life support, to nothing but oxygen and some medications she is now taking on her own. She was on dialysis because her kidney functions were so bad, now they took her off of it completely!! The nurses are beside themselves. They just cannot believe how much she has improved. They told us, they honestly didn't think she was going to make it. I knew she would. I believed in my heart that God would lift her up and carry her through, and he did! I am just so grateful to God that she is with us today. She's leaving ICU on Monday or Tuesday to go to a rehabilitation center. From not walking for so long, her legs are very weak. They said with the rate she has improved already, that she may only need two weeks of rehab. It's just amazing to see her sitting in the chair talking and smiling and just being herself. I can't even begin to describe how fortunate I feel. I've witnessed the power of God in front of my eyes, and it just feels so overwhelming and amazing!!

thrift store adore

afternoon tea, a photo by *autumnlove on Flickr.

So, one of my favorite things to do is thrift store shop. Everyone who knows me, knows that I have an old soul. I should of been born with Jane Austen lol Now THAT would be pretty amazing. Where was I going again? Oh yeah, thrift stores!

My husband and I stopped by a thrift shop, and I found this adorable pitcher. Truth is, I think it's for syrup, but I really don't care because I'm using it for tea!! It's cute, and I've never been one to follow the rules. I'll take a vase and use it as a pitcher, or even a glass lol I find cute things and make up my own mind on what I think it's purpose should be!!! I really enjoy the cork and the tiny spout. If it didn't have that big cork, I don't think it'd be as cute. The cork pulls the entire thing together :) I'll consider this on my list of "great finds"

Onto other happenings in my so called life. Wow I really am in a "mood" today! Anyway, buggie is getting sooo big and so fat. She will not stay out of the garbage for nothing. I'm not gonna buy a can with a lid either, because I want her to learn NO. She's such a brat, but she's the cutest brat ever :) Love my little bug ♥

I've been trying to work on my website, but every time I sit down to do some work, I seem to get side tracked every which way. I really would like to have it down within the next two weeks. Guess I'm gonna have to sit down, ignore my phone, and do the work! lol

Well, got tons of things to do before hubby gets home.. peace, love, and shutter clicks!

With Love,
C

Summer

HBW!!!!, a photo by *autumnlove on Flickr.

Hubby and I took a trip to my favorite place in the world, The Rose Garden! So I called my coworker who knows a lot about cars to look at it. He said he would... 2 days went by and nothing. I told my husband to just call the tow truck and have it taken to the shop.. THAN my coworker calls and asks why I had it towed and that he looked at it and was going to fix it... I'm like "HOW was I supposed to know this, when you never called me!!" He didn't even answer my texts or phone calls, like I had no idea he even looked at the car. So I ended up missing two days of work, and an important meeting!! Ugh.. Good news is, we had it fixed. Now we're just waiting for them to call and say when we can come get it. Something about the alternator belt. Idk, I know barely anything about cars lol

So.. That's been my week lol On a more pleasant note, I got Joshilyn Jackson's newest novel "backseat saints" I just started it, but so far, like all of her others.. I LOVE IT! I got lot's to do today, I'll write again soon enough.

With Love,
C

I miss you momma

I miss you crocheting in your rocking chair,
I miss you playing with your long hair.
I miss you rubbing your socks off of your feet,
I miss you reading your bible before you went to sleep.
I miss you smiling at the ornery things daddy would say,
I miss you tomorrow, I miss you today, I miss you momma, every single day.

Kitty Kisses

kitty kisses, a photo by *autumnlove on Flickr.

I've always wanted to get something like this, so I was ecstatic when I finally did. It just so happens, I captured this by pure accident =D The girl in the photo is my best friend Tress and the kitty is Marley (named after Bob Marley) It's just the cutest thing since the color pink lol

I have off work today, So I went and got all of my hair cut off into my summer bob. I get it every year when it starts to get hot, because lord knows I have a lot of hair! The lady cutting my hair even mentioned that like multiple times (WOW you have soo much hair!!) I'm like yeah I know! That's why it all needs to be gone lol She agreed, if she had hair as thick as mine she'd chop it off too!!

It's been raining like every day. I don't mind it at all. I love sitting in the bed reading a book and listening to the rain hit the windows, and the cars driving by. I actually enjoy that I live on a pretty busy street. I love the cars, there's something soothing about them..

Speaking of books, I really do need to find more time to read. I've been trying, but work makes me sooo tired. I end up just wanting to lay in bed and do nothing else at night. I gotta find a solution, I have all these books to read and no time to do it in!

Speaking of time, I gotta go. I'm allowed because it's my days off from work lol I did some cleaning & organizing but the rest of the time, I've been spending on the couch, computer, or with my nose stuck in a book. Me & Peanut obviously have the same idea when it comes to the bed lol

I go back to work tomorrow (Mother's Day) After work, hubby & I are visiting with his mother and stopping by my mom's grave. I don't go there often, it's not because I don't love or miss my mother, it's because I do love & miss my mother. If that makes no sense to you, I'll explain. I feel like, when I go to her grave it's just a reminder that she's gone. It's like losing her all over again every time I go. I don't think she would be upset or mad in any kind of way, because she didn't visit her mother often either. It's just too hard to relive losing someone you love, over & over again.

On a more positive note, I'm really enjoying Spring and looking forward to visiting my favorite place in the world to take photos, the Rose Garden!!! I'm hoping to visit on my next day off :) These past days off, it's been rainy and lazy days. I'm not sure how many of the flowers are up, but I'm hoping it's a good bit. Hard to know when your constantly at work what's what anymore! Well, it's probably a good idea to at least eat lunch, seeing as I haven't had anything to eat at all today!

With Love,
C

Well, HELLO!!!!

WOW... SO, it's been a very long time since I last updated which is honestly completely typical of me lol I like the idea of something but than get so wrapped up in life that I completely forget.. I have so many things going on at once that it makes it hard to keep up with even myself hahaha

Anyway, where do I even begin?? Hubby and I separated for awhile, it was the best thing we ever did. I think we're both in a much better place right now and can focus more on the "now" rather than the past. Through the entire separation period, I ended up selling my camera equipment to get my own apartment. It was so hard to do, but a roof over my head was vital. So, I found a job , worked things out with hubby and just recently bought another camera. I'm happy, he's happy and we're moving forward more stable and a lot stronger :)

So about my apartment. It's AMAZING! It has the biggest windows ever and they go around the entire place. HELLO LIGHT!! It's a photographers dream, minus the lack of bigger window sills, but one must compromise! I love it :) Every morning I wake up to beautiful light!! It has hardwood floors that we're redoing ourselves. The landlord agreed to let us do whatever we wanted, because the old tenants left it a nightmare. I don't mind! I like being able to do whatever I want without restrictions. It's like owning a home but not.. I'm loving it :)

Well, I have to go make dinner and see what Hubby is up to. Lot's of love to everyone =)

It's Snowing!

Originally uploaded by *autumnlove
This morning it really started to snow. It was so pretty :) I grabbed my camera and ran outside to take photos. This is one of them. I'm really hoping for a white Christmas this year!

I know I haven't been posting, I'm having a rough time right now dealing with the 1 year anniversary of my dad's passing. I just miss him and my mom so much. It's really hard not having him. He was always there for me, now I just feel so lost without him. After losing my mother, him and I became really close. I got used to having him to talk to and now without him and my mom, I feel so alone and sad. I seriously think I might go talk to someone, because I'm just not dealing with it that well.

It's not easy to lose both of your parents to cancer. I get so angry sometimes that they haven't found a cure. I know I shouldn't, but I do. It just seems so unfair.

Luckily I have my photography, It helps me focus on something other than the pain of not having my parents. I would be lost without photography.

On a more pleasant note, I am excited for Christmas. I already gave hubby his big present from me. I know, It's like not even close to Christmas, BUT I couldn't help myself! I knew he would love it, So I couldn't contain myself. What am I saying lol I NEVER can contain myself. Every single year I end up giving him all of his presents early! I need to wait until Christmas Eve to buy him more presents or else I'll give him those as well, Like I said I just cannot control the urge at all!

Well anyway, I have so much to do today so I better get off here.

Happy Holidays!!

With Love,
C

Changes

I've been soo busy recently. Hubby and I decided to redo our family room. We painted the walls, trim, door, and even the floor. Our house is over 100 some years old, so it has the wide floor boards which I LOVE. We redid them into chocolate brown. They were painted an uglier brown, so it looks a lot better. Along with all the painting, we got new decor and furniture. It was a lot of fun shopping around for new photo frames, candles and curtains. Our new sofa is a deep chocolate leather. It's comfy and really nice. I'm so happy with how it looks :)

I know your supposed to Spring clean in SPRING lol but I did it last week. It felt so good to get rid of all the things we don't need. We donated a lot of stuff and cleared up so much room around the house. I still have more to do but I'll get to it in time.

Thanksgiving is next week and than Christmas is just around the bend. I can't believe how fast it came up on me. We're having my mother in law, and sister in law over for Thanksgiving. That's another thing we did this past week, move my mother in law's things to her new apartment. Told ya, busy, busy, busy!!

Oh and the Christmas tree! With the new family room, I just HAD to put the tree up lol It looks so nice nestled in the corner by the window. I'll have to take photos when I get a min. Well anyway,

Speaking of busy, I have to run! I promised myself I'd get these clothes done today..

With Love,
C

A Day With La La

I spent the day with my baby niece Laura the other day ago. She's cute as a button and such a sweet little angel. I let her tear apart my book case, book by book lol She had a lot of fun doing it :D I think her favorite book was the Cath Kidston one I have of her prints and she seemed to like Wuthering Heights. Either way, you can tell she's a baby einstein! Cath Kidston makes the cutest stuff and Wuthering Heights I think is pretty obvious.

I made a rattle-ish toy out of a plastic film canister and a few watch batteries. She spent a lot of time trying to figure out how to get the lid open. I watched her carefully for fear that she would actually get it open. After all any baby who picks Wuthering Heights out of a 100 other books is surely genius enough to figure out a simple little contraption like a film canister. I got lucky though, eventually she got bored with the makeshift rattle and went for my camera and the cats tail (ouch!). Eventually she clunked out on me. She fell asleep on me while watching cartoons. It was so precious <3

Anyway, here are some photos of her. Isn't she just the cutest thing since the color pink!!!

<img style="display:block; Brought together at birth by parents who were already the best of friends, Chris and Emily spent every waking moment together developing a bond no one could break. Their parents always knew and hoped the two would fall in love and marry some day. It didn't take long for their hopes to become true. Emily and Chris started dating young, as the years went by their love grew stronger eventually leading into intimacy. Emily was uncomfortable with being intimate with Chris because of something from her childhood even Chris knew nothing about. Chris kept pressuring her until eventually she gave in. (I didn't like this part of the story, It's never OK to pressure someone into something they don't want to do.) It's this intimacy that would eventually lead to the beginning of the end.

It was a phone call at 3:00 am that would divide the Hartes and the Golds after seventeen years of friendship. The families are called to the hospital where they learn of Emily's death and a suicide pact gone wrong between Emily and Chris. Despite Chris's story about a suicide pact, the police believe something very different happened. Something more a long the lines of murder. Chris is thrown in jail and faced with the fact that he could spending the majority of his life locked in a prison cell. The families are both torn apart and trying desperately to just make it through another day.

The Pact was a tragic, but riveting tale of two very close families torn apart by a truly heartbreaking event. The novel switches been the past and the present, allowing you to understand the characters and what brought them to the point they are at in the story. I love Jodi Picoult's writing. She's very good at hooking you early and reeling you in so slowly until the end where she yanks you up and leaves you breathless. Her novels touch on real life issue's giving you a connection with the story. The Pact was another one of her novel's that pulled at my heart strings. It wasn't a book filled with pink fuzzies and balloons. Picoult touched on the pain and anguish both families faced through the time of Emily's death until the end of Chris's murder trial. The pain was real, the characters were believable, the story was powerful. It's not a story you can just move on from in a blink of an eye. The Pact will stick with you for some time.

Eat Pray Love | Elizabeth Gilbert

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 263px; height: 400px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_1a_U6Vgqg_k/TKZgoW3Jb9I/AAAAAAAAAF0/LfzLH5U0UgI/s400/Eat-Pray-Love.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5523208239464411090" />

Author: Elizabeth Gilbert
Paperback: 352 pages
Publisher: Penguin (Non-Classics); Reissue edition (June 29, 2010)
Language: English
ISBN-10: 0143118420
ISBN-13: 978-0143118428

After countless nights of crying, alone on the bathroom floor Elizabeth Gilbert finally reaches out to God for help. She's depressed and no longer happy in her marriage. After a divorce and her new relationship falling apart she decides it's time to go and find herself, and heal. So, she plans a year long journey to visit Italy, India, and Indonesia. The memoir is about one woman's journey to heal her wounds and overcome depression.

First comes Italy where she begins to learn Italian eat delicious food, and meet new people who would later become like family to her. While in Italy she begins the process of letting go and finding happiness within, all the while devouring delicious Gelato and heaps of mouth watering spaghetti.

Next comes India where she visits an Ashram of her guru. This is where the healing / moving on / letting go process really begins. This section of the book is deep and emotional. She is forced to face her feelings head on and to change the way she handles things. Through meditation, and a new found friend Richard, she is able to open her heart and start letting go of the guilt, pain, and denial.

Finally comes Indonesia where Liz has all intentions of spending her time with a known medicine man. Turns out most of her time is spent with a man she wasn't prepared for. Indonesia is where Liz learns to love again. Reluctant to love again Liz tries everything to not fall in love, the more she tries the harder she falls. She learns a lesson in life; you can't stop love. Also during her time in Indonesia, Liz meets a woman who is a healer. Unheard of in Indonesia, this woman is divorced, has a little girl, and is barely making ends meet. When Liz finds out the woman's situation she takes action, raising enough money to build the woman a home.

Eat Pray Love isn't the best book I've ever read, but none the less it is a memoir worth reading. After reading this book I went and seen the movie as well. The movie just didn't do this book any justice in my opinion. It was a good movie but it could have been better. Don't get me wrong Julia Roberts was PERFECT, but they left out so much from the book. In my opinion way too much. With that being said I'd like to say that Eat Pray Love and I had a connection. I felt for this woman. I felt her struggles, her pain, her reluctance to let go. It can be so hard when your heart is so broke. I admired that she hung in there, that she fought to heal herself, that she was able to finally love despite everything. She was brave, and so determined to be better for no one else but herself. That takes a lot of courage. Elizabeth Gilbert's journey is inspiring, and enjoyable but not without flaws. I think I have a love hate relationship with this memoir.

Busy Little Bee

It's been awhile, but for good reason :D Hubby has been on vaca for our anniversary (the 22nd) so we've been out shopping and having a good time. Now we're both so tired from all the running, all we want to do is sit around the house and do nothing.

We started out doing my favorite thing ever, thrift store hunting. Every now and then I like to take a day and go to all the thrift stores we can think of. Thrift stores are my heart and soul. I love finding old / vintage things like linens, china, books, home decor etc. I would much rather have something old with history than something new that everyone else has in their home. I found some really nice things including a new headboard for our bed! It's vintage and adorable :D

We also went and took photos in this cute little town I love. While there we met an adorable puppy named Krimbo. I'll post a photo of him for you to see. The light was amazing!! I got some really beautiful photos. I plan to go back again tomorrow :D Most of our time there was spent talking to Krimbo's owner so I didn't get to photograph all the things I wanted to.

I also read Eat Pray Love and then went to see the movie. You gotta love Julia Roberts! She is just an angel ♥ So about the book and movie. I liked the movie but I loved the book. I was able to connect more with the book, probably because it goes into a lot more detail than the movie. All in all the story itself of Elizabeth Gilbert's journey really touched me. I would recommend both the memoir and the movie :D

Cheerleading

Sunday, Hubby and I went to one of my niece's football games to watch them cheer. They are both so adorable and talented :D We both really enjoyed going and plan to go again. I also feel like it meant a lot to my niece's to have us there. They both seemed excited and proud that we were there. After the games we all went out for pizza. It was nice to not only watch my niece's cheer but to also watch my sister coach. She's the coach for my littler niece's squad. She did a great job teaching them. They did really well. Here are some photos from the games and also a photo of my baby niece Laura.

The Old Fence

I'll be the very first to admit that I'm no longer as young as I once was, and I'm no longer in shape like I once was. With that being said, let me explain :P I went for a walk today, camera in hand all ready to shoot some photos and get some exercise. I found out fast that I just don't go for enough walks anymore, and that I seriously need to step it up and start again! I used to walk every single day with my camera. I miss that and my body needs that. So I'm gonna step it up and take a walk at least once a day.

Besides my realization that I'm not in the greatest shape, I got some really nice photos on my walk. My entire life I walked past this fence and always loved it. I've been home now for almost a year and never photographed it. I call it being lazy :X ( I'm honest! ) So, today I got my chance. I love the trees that hang over it, the leaves that fall on the ground by it, and the oldness and color of the fence. Enough talking, here are some of the shots from my photo walk :D

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 500px; height: 335px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_1a_U6Vgqg_k/TIp2umuCDxI/AAAAAAAAAFk/jxZXJqE9rq8/s400/walk03.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5515351236708273938" />

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 500px; height: 335px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_1a_U6Vgqg_k/TIpxNVcbMyI/AAAAAAAAAFM/Z6dVx6MPX1s/s400/walk02.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5515345167577199394" />

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 500px; height: 335px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_1a_U6Vgqg_k/TIpxM9Uj-ZI/AAAAAAAAAFE/KHoYLYp2jlk/s400/walk01.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5515345161101769106" />

For more photos please check out my flickr

A Day At The Park

Have I ever mentioned how much I love Mingo Park? Well if I didn't, I am now :) Not only do I love it, but so does Hubby and Soprano (our boxer). We all packed into the car (Well Soprano was kind of in the car, his head was sticking out the window the entire time) and headed to Mingo for some R&R and a BBQ. We had turkey burgers, and turkey dogs on the grill. By we I do mean boo (boo= Soprano) also :D It was such a nice day. We had a great time there. It's little moments like that, that mean so much to me. I love doing simple things like going to the park. I feel like it gives Hubby and I a chance to reconnect from time to time. We enjoy the time we have together. We're creating memories for life's big scrapbook (corny I know!) but it's so true.

and... here we are to me reading! Yes I finally picked up the book I've been reading for like ever. I can't believe it myself, I used to read a few books a month. I've been reading this same book for 2 months! Definitely not like me, especially since I'm supposed to be reviewing it for Book Sneeze :X I really do need to take more time to read. It's like medication for my soul, I can tell a difference when I'm reading and not reading. Same goes for writing. When I'm writing poetry often, I just feel better. I need to read and I need to write!

Right now though, I need to go make dinner. I'm starving. I'm not really sure what I'm making yet. I just want something healthy, and something light. I'm not really fretting about it because we needed this rain. It's been so hot and so humid the last couple of days. I was starting to think the 90 degree weather was here to stay. My thinking was wrong and I'm happy about that :P It's supposed to be 67 degrees tomorrow with more rain. Autumn-ish weather I can handle!! As for the cheer session, I'll do it another day when mother nature decides to agree with my plans.

I was bored today, stuck inside because of mother nature. I decided to take some photos. One of the things I decided to photograph are these purdy colorful pens I have. I've had them for awhile now, I don't know why I haven't done this shot already... My best excuse is that my brain has been on vaca somewhere tropical and just landed home again lol Well anyway, here are two of the photos. Simple, but pretty none the less.

Still............

waiting <s>patiently</s> for Autumn to make it's grand entrance. Good news is, it's supposed to be in the upper 60's this weekend. Bad news is, it's going to rain :X Seriously not fair!

Back to Autumn, it's a very special time of the year for me. My husband and I got married on 09/22/07, shortly after I choose autumnlove.us as a domain name for a blog, which then turned into my photography website. I've built my name around Autumn. Business is starting to grow. I'm having more people contacting me for sessions. It's a great feeling and I'm ready to grab the bull by the horns, and hopefully succeed with my dreams of being a respected photographer. I've already started selling my images, now I want to get more into selling my services.

Things are looking bright and clear now, I'm super excited :D

Autumn Like Weather

I'm really enjoying this Autumn like weather we've been having recently. Sadly, like all good things it's coming to an end soon enough. I can't wait until Autumn actually arrives. It's my favorite time of year. The leaves start turning colors, trees that were once just normal green turn into these beautiful splashes of color. PA is very mountain-ish so around here you can take a drive out to the mountains and see these huge areas filled with colors. Not to mention the cooler weather calls for light sweaters, boots, hot tea, soups, and hot cocoa. I just can't wait for it. This weather has made me want to pull out my cute tea pot and take some photos. Hope you enjoy them as much as I do :)

Baby Photoshoot

I had a photo shoot on Tuesday with a precious little baby.
